The Great Lakes Graphics Association’s Graphics Excellence Awards competition recognizes companies through Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin for the superb craftsmanship in the design, creation and production of top-quality printed material they produce for their customers. A team of judges is composed of experts in the graphic communications industry. An entry is judged first on technical expertise and the quality of printing, then on design features and overall graphic appeal. GLGA - Best of Category, is presented to the most outstanding entry in each category.

Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) Announces 2022 Flexible Packaging Achievement Award for CL&D - Silver for Printing for Sanders® Small Batch Wonders.

Sanders® Small Batch Wonders, Milk Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel Pecan Clusters Gusset Pouches are an excellent example of how flexible packaging creates exceptional brand management. The new, improved packaging design creates a colorful, exciting gusset pouch with bold colors and a matte/gloss finish to emphasize many features of their product such as the chocolate and pecan images. Sanders® Small Batch Wonders gusset pouches have exceptional aroma and flavor barrier, good clarity, and great reclosure and dispensing options. With a total of 325 entries (some packages were entered into multiple categories), twenty-seven packages were honored with 43 Achievement Awards. According to the FPA judges, "Printing was a critical category for this year’s competition for the vast majority of the entries that we reviewed and it was fantastic. The printing quality, the graphics, the use of colors, and the matte and gloss combinations were just outstanding."

CL&D Graphics, Inc. Announced as Best of Category Award Winner Flexographic – Mid Web, Process in the 2020 Graphics Excellence Awards

Great Lakes Graphics Association (GLGA) Press Release: Pewaukee, WI — The Great Lakes Graphics Association (GLGA) has announced that CL&D Graphics, Inc. of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin is an award winner in the 2020 Graphics Excellence Awards (GEA) competition. The judging was conducted on March 10 - 11, 2020, by a team of independent judges. The GEA competition is one of the largest printing competitions in the nation. CL&D Graphics, Inc. won Best of Category Award for Flexographic – Mid Web, Process with Delta Carbona’s Outdoor Cleaner Shrink Sleeve. A panel of out-of-state judges with extensive experience in printing and print production was brought in to examine the work. Each entry was judged on its own merit in a category with similar printed pieces. The judging criteria included registration, crossovers, clarity and neatness, sharpness of halftones and line drawings, richness and tonal qualities of color, paper and ink selection, ink coverage, difficulty of printing, effective contrast or softness, finishing, bindery and overall visual impact.

FPA Press Realease: Scottsdale, Arizona – The Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) has announced the winners of its 63rd Annual Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards Competition. CL&D Graphics, Inc. of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, received Silver — Printing and Shelf Impact for the Before Brands SpoonfulOne Strawberry Puffs Gusset Pouches. Before Brands SpoonfulOne Strawberry Puffs Gusset Pouches are an excellent example of how converting to flexible packaging creates exceptional brand management. The new, improved packaging creates a colorful, exciting gusset pouch with bold colors and a matte finish to emphasize the many features of their product. Before Brands SpoonfulOne Strawberry Puffs is a gusset pouch that contains seven snack packs.

A panel of three judges with extensive experience in printing and print production examined the work and each entry was judged on its own merit in a category with similar printed pieces. The judging criteria also included sustainability, multisensory elements, materials, and technology. There were 140 entries. According to FPA, “Several of the entries also highlighted the transition of products previously packaged in rigid containers to flexible packaging, and addressed consumer convenience, making it easier for the consumers to shop, transport, dispense from, and use flexible packaging.”

MARCH 2017: The Great Lakes Graphics Association (GLGA) has announced that CL&D Graphics is an award winner in the 2017 Graphics Excellence Awards (GEA) competition. The GEA competition is one of the largest printing competitions in the nation. CL&D Graphics, Inc. achieved an Award of Excellence in the Flexo Narrow Web Labels and Wraps, Rolled Products/Pressure Sensitive Category for the EFX Sports Karbolyn Matte/Gloss Shrink Sleeve.

A panel of out-of-state judges with extensive experience in printing and print production examined the work and each entry was judged on its own merit in a category with similar printed pieces. The judging criteria included registration, crossovers, clarity and neatness, sharpness of halftones and line drawings, richness and tonal qualities of color, paper and ink selection, ink coverage, difficulty of printing, effective contrast or softness, finishing, bindery and overall visual impact.
